OGINC Technology bulletin Q1 2015
Unmanned Aerial systems (UAS) now serve many different
applications such as environmental monitoring, power line, pipeline and
infrastructure monitoring, oil spill detection, security, and support of
logistical operations. The technology is conceptually adaptable to any
situation requiring surveillance, keeping in mind that application specific
proof of concept and verification testing may be required to establish limits
and uncertainties. UAVs are often preferred for missions that
are too "dull, dirty or dangerous” for manned aircraft.
